BFV Music Patcher FAQ
v. 1.02.2 (07/08/2004)

I am not making a really formal faq here, just want to answer
the questions.

Q: What is the BFV Music Patcher?
A: The patcher allows you to replace the default music that ships with BFV, by using an .mrfa file
   (built using mrfa builder)

Q: How is this any different than putting music in the "My Music" folder located in BFV?
A: The difference is that when you put music into the "My Music" folder it has no affect
on the music played from other vehicles. With the patcher you hear your music coming
   from the radios in vehicles.

Q: Can other people hear my music?
A: Only if they have used the music patcher and have used the same .mrfa file (or created their
own that is the same as yours)

Q: Can I still put other music in the "My Music" folder?
A: Yes - the patch does not affect custom music or playlists, the easiest way to think of it is that
your music patch is replacing the defaults.

Q: Will the patcher ruin my installation of BFV?
A: No - the patcher is actually very passive and has built in commands for you to
restore your original files (if desired).

Q: Once I have applied a music patch wont punkbuster prevent me from playing on public servers?
A: No - the patch (as mentioned) is very passive - the actual game files are not manipulted - just
some music files. From testing on many public servers there has not been a problem (as of BFV 1.02)

Q: What files is the patcher messing with?
A: The patcher puts a new music.rfa into your Battlefield Vietnam\Mods\BfVietnam\Archives folder
And then it adds a line of text ("run ../../../custom_music/playlists.con")
to your Battlefield Vietnam\Mods\BfVietnam\settings\Default.con (a backup is made beforehand).
This tells BFV to use the custom playlist.

Q: I have other questions and need someone to email.
A: I have created these utilities in my spare time for fun. I do not have time to support them other
than updating them (when required). I do not have time to answer a bunch of questions, or take
requests for features. Your best bet is to get on the 24th_MID forum and post a new topic there,
or look at any of the other forums on the net supporting mods.

Q: Who wrote these utilities?
A: [24th_MID]Mindlsayer

Q: Who should I use for WebHosting?
A: http://www.tri-lakes.net
